About Me I am one of 7 children and was born in a small country village in Northumberland. After leaving school and completing my GCSE exams I set to work in the small firm that is our family business.
Since my early school days I have been very interested in art, achieving an O level in the subject. However my time and energy were taken up with running the business alongside my family.
I soon married and moved into the Tyne valley in Northumberland, and after the birth of my second son started painting as a hobby. My enthusiasm for painting has grown and has become my passion. I derive inspiration from my love for the way of life of the farming community, the animals and the beautiful landscape of the Northumbrian countryside.
I am completely self-taught and at present use acrylic paint, but I am continually experimenting with other media. Within the last two years started to sell my paintings, prints and cards which are now being sold from several outlets in and around the Tyne valley. I have also attended various exhibitions in the area, so take a look at my calendar to find out when my next dates are. |
